As the US CEO, Joel Lunenfeld leads Publicis Media Exchange (PMX), Publicis Groupe’s global media platform that centralizes capabilities across investment, innovation and product and agency empowerment. Under his leadership, PMX uses Publicis Media’s clout and investment power, strong industry partnerships, proprietary technology and data to accelerate value and help clients more effectively leverage agency products and services.
A 25-year veteran of the industry, Lunenfeld is known for building disruptive brands across media, entertainment and technology and has led marketing and brand strategy for blue chip brands including X (formerly Twitter) and Abbott. A Publicis boomerang, he was one of the first employees at Moxie, where he eventually rose through the ranks to become CEO. Lunenfeld’s influence on the industry has been recognized with awards spanning Cannes Lions Grand Prix to an AAF Advertising Hall of Achievement designation.
In 2014 he co-founded The Guardian Project, a global non-profit providing free jiu-jitsu to at-risk youth to build community and self-esteem through martial arts. Joel also served on the board of Hire Heroes USA, a nonprofit that helps veterans and their spouses find jobs and transition from military to civilian life.
