Annie Tracy loves deep. Her music will break your heart and empower you within the same breath. Her viral Act EP series details a timestamp to when things were sweetly intimate but also hauntingly lovelorn. With a vocal ability to make any soul quiver, the North Carolina native’s budding career and recent release of her latest single “Caching Feelings ft. Leon Thomas” is a reminder that R&B is in fresh and powerful new hands.

In 2023, Tracy’s vulnerable songwriting won over the hearts of the TikTok generation with cuts from her debut EP Act I going viral. “Crying in the Subway” speaks to the highs and gripping lows of one’s purpose while “Times It By Two” is an acoustic hub for a world wind romance. “I'm obsessed with the art of songwriting,” she says. Inspired by the likes of Beyoncè, The Chicks and Bibi Bourelly, Tracy’s powerhouse vocals remind fans that the marriage of sangers and honest storytelling still exists. Working alongside Multi-Grammy-winning producer Tricky Stewart (Beyonce, Mary J Blige, Mariah Carey), Tracy leaned into the wins and losses of love in her own special way. “I've been inspired by other people's work, and I want to write music that evokes similar temperatures,” she says of her inspirations. “For me, songwriting is a form of therapy, a way to process my experiences and emotions.”

Her Act One and Act Two EPs were several years in the making, showcasing a timeline of different phases of love and experiences all woven together. “Clothes Are So Obnoxious” from Act One is a declaration of the perception of truth in love with lyrics like “See I’d never lie to you/can’t lie with who you lie to.” Act Two continues the quiet storm-esque feel of “Close to You” featuring Grammy-nominated artist Robin Thicke. Tracy’s ability to tap into nostalgic vibes of Y2K R&B comes so effortlessly that she’s also gained a strong co-sign from Grammy-winning singer and songwriter Tameka Harris. The Xscape singer has championed for Tracy so much so that Tracy’s “Summertime” features an interpolation of 1993 classic, “Just Kickin’ It.” “I always wanted to do a little ode to her for being one of the fi rst people to take me under her
wing,” she said. “Plus, I always wanted to have a song that I would play in a convertible on the way to the beach.”

The stories don’t stop there as Tracy’s athletic background is seen across her EP art as well. As she balanced basketball and musical theater as a youth in Wilmington, North Carolina, music was the ultimate choice. “[Fellow Wilmington native] Michael Jordan is one of my biggest inspirations and with my EP art, I still wanted to pay homage to my love for the sport since it’s authentic to my life path,” she explains.
Her 2025 EP Scared of Heights represents a more sassy and direct side to her artistry. Staying true to her love languages of providing gifts to her fans, the tracks are vivid with gripping tales of all-consuming love and those raspy power vocals her fans have gagged over on social media. The track “Catching Feelings” was penned in just an hour, taking listeners through a rush of emotions love can bring. “I was contemplating the sexiness and coolness of these feelings, but also the danger of getting caught up in them,” she says. “I want to do this, but at the same time, I'm aware of the risks. By the end of the song, I'm saying, "Don't let me get away." It's like, even though this feels amazing right now, don't let me lose myself in it.”

With unwavering support from Warner Records, brand partners Nordstrom and New Balance, and her internet family, Tracy is poised to make a splash in 2025.
