Rebecca Gitlitz, Head of Sports, TIME Studios, is a two-time Emmy Award-winning director and producer. Rebecca spent years documenting the realm of sports from every angle, heading projects on game changers like LeBron James, Peyton Manning, Caitlin Jenner, Pat Summit and Arthur Ashe. Rebecca has always been drawn to the stories of those who were overlooked or misunderstood by the spotlight, particularly trailblazing females and people who have been marginalized. Eventually telling some of those stories led her beyond sports. Her 4-hour documentary on Princess Diana, an ABC Primetime special event, was viewed by over 40 million people worldwide. Other ABC Primetime specials followed, such as 50 Years of Sunny Days, the story of the transcendent programming of Sesame Street. In this era of political turbulence, Rebecca turned her attention to making films about January 6th and Rudy Giuliani for MSNBC. No matter the source of human drama, she is always searching for a container that offers an entry to understanding. This summer Rebecca returned to sports, and to the topics of marginalization and the heavy challenges faced by female athletes that fuel her passion for making films. UNDER PRESSURE, a look at the U.S. Women's National Soccer team's 2023 World Cup aired on Netflix in December of 2023.
