Lois Cook
Chief Executive Officer, FootballHer; Professional Football Player, WFA
Lois Cook is a professional football player, sports broadcaster, host, marketing executive, and advocate who has spent more than two decades helping expand the visibility and opportunities for women and girls in football.

A wide receiver for the DC Divas and Vice President of the organization, Lois also serves as Marketing Director for the Women’s Football Alliance (WFA), where she helps shape how the largest women’s tackle football league in the world tells its stories, engages fans, and grows its presence across sports and culture.

Beyond the field, Lois is a stadium host for the DC Defenders, a sports broadcaster and sideline reporter, and the founder of FootballHer, an initiative created to empower women and girls through football. Through her media platform, Cleats And Stilettos LLC, she has built an audience of more than half a million followers by combining sports, storytelling, culture, and an unapologetically female perspective on football.

Lois has also been instrumental in expanding opportunities for girls to play the game. She helped launch the first girls’ flag football league in Loudoun County, helping establish a pathway for a sport that has since become officially sanctioned. She has also contributed to the development and growth of girls’ flag football in Prince William and Fairfax counties. Through FootballHer, Lois further addressed one of the practical barriers to participation by providing brand new cleats to every girl participating in ever DC Public high schools’ flag football program.

Her work has led to partnerships and campaigns with brands including ESPN, Got Milk?, Always, Hulu, TiVo, Xenith, M&T Bank, and others. In 2022, Lois was featured as a Team Milk athlete in Got Milk?’s Super Bowl campaign, appearing in a commercial that aired during the game as well as on a billboard outside SoFi Stadium during Super Bowl week. The campaign put women’s tackle football on one of sports’ biggest stages and reinforced a message central to Lois’s career: football is football, regardless of who is playing it.

From playing the game to marketing it, broadcasting it, coaching it, and helping build pathways for the girls coming behind her, Lois has made her career about one mission: making sure women and girls aren’t simply included in football’s future, but are visible in shaping it.
