Whalar
Neil Waller is the Co-Founder of Whalar, the first Cannes Lions award-winning global creator commerce company liberating all creative voices.
A self-confessed college dropout and a serial entrepreneur at heart, Neil and his partner James Street co-founded nine businesses, including those in the direct-to-consumer (DTC space). In 2015, Neil and James won Shopify Build a Biz award for one of their DTC companies. After the rapid success of creator marketing, Neil and James realized the potential in improving social commerce and Whalar was established in 2016.
Today, Whalar works closely with today’s biggest brands, creators, and the world’s leading social platforms to source ideas and content directly from the communities they most want to reach and engage. It’s differentiated by its unique capabilities, including proprietary technology, brand partnership expertise, brilliant creator talent management, a dedicated Web3 innovation practice, and specialized unit C Talent, which concentrates on disability inclusion and accessibility beyond compliance.
Whalar is helping to define a growing segment of the creator economy ecosystem, attracting ad industry and tech veterans like Sir John Hegarty, Bob Greenberg, Roxanne Taylor, Andrea Wong, Brad Smallwood, Harriet Seitler, and Steven Wolfe Pereira to its board. Whalar is fueling the conversation about how creators and brands can create must-see content by inspiring action. In the last three years, Whalar has experienced triple-digit growth each year, exceeding the previous year. Additionally, Whalar was named Adweek’s 2022 Creator Agency of the Year.
Over the years, Neil has become a sought-after thought leader in the creator economy and its future, Web3, and entrepreneurship. He has provided insight to leading publications, including Ad Age, Adweek, Business Insider, Digiday, Financial Times, Forbes, among others. He is also a regular presenter and contributor at top-tier industry events.
Born and raised in the UK, Neil now lives in LA.
