Carmella Boykin is an associate producer on The Washington Post TikTok team. She writes, shoots and edits news TikToks that often involve dancing to explain news topics. Her most recent viral video on a controversial Mexican train line garnered over 3 million views. Carmella also developed the TikTok team’s GIPHY account where her work has over 50 million views.

Previously, she worked as a local TV reporter in Rochester, NY where she started her TikTok account.

Carmella joined the Post in December 2021 and holds a degree in Broadcast and Digital Journalism from Syracuse University.
