Kristin Harrer serves as the Global Chief Marketing Officer at Vans where she is responsible for leading the global marketing and creative teams across product, action sports, brand platforms and communications. Harrer brings over 20 years of experience leading marketing teams and leveraging data and insights to drive brand growth and innovation across leading consumer tech, sports and fitness brands.

Prior to joining Vans in 2021, Harrer was most recently the CMO of Dollar Shave Club where she oversaw all core marketing functions including integrated go to market, creative, design, insights and media. In this role, Harrer led the development of DSC’s brand refresh, “Welcome to the Club” brand platform and launch into traditional retail with the “We Got You” brand campaign.

Harrer has also held leadership roles at Samsung North America, spearheading nine mobile phone launches under the brand umbrella of “Do What You Can’t” and the product story “Upgrade to Galaxy” as Head of Creative and Brand Marketing for the mobile division. With a deep passion for consumer insights and innovation, she helped launch Nike’s Global Consumer Knowledge division as Head of Insights, led Global Brand Marketing for Nike Women with the re-launch of the Nike+ Training Club app and debut of the NTC concept in omni-channel, and led the Nike Football innovation offense during the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil as part of the
“Risk Everything” brand campaign. Harrer started her marketing career with Wieden+Kennedy (Portland) where she had the opportunity to help develop and launch other acclaimed campaigns for some of the world’s most iconic brands including “Go Forth” for Levi’s and “Imported from Detroit” for Chrysler.

Harrer has also been involved in Adweek’s Executive Mentor Program which connects senior-level marketers with some of the world’s top CMOs, CBOs, CEOs and more to help evolve the face of the C-Suite. And was also named to Forbes’ ‘CMO Next 2019: 50 Game-Changing Marketing Leaders’, a compilation of 50 CMOs who are redefining the CMO role and who embody all that the role is becoming, can be and will be in the future.

Harrer holds a law degree and MBA from the University of Oregon and a BA from Washington University in Saint Louis where she was also an All-American athlete.
