Helen Lawrence is the Global Head of Culture and Community at WhatsApp, leading a Social and Content division dedicated to telling the stories of impact and human progress that WhatsApp enables for billions of people around the world.

Before joining WhatsApp, Helen was Global Head of Social Media at Twitter, where she led the transformation of the company’s Social Media strategy and campaigns: from the Super Bowl to Juneteenth, with some Tweeting pigeons thrown in along the way for good measure.

Helen is a leading public speaking voice, having spoken at Havard, Social Media Week, Mobile World Congress, WPP Stream and many more. She is also a regular judge and mentor at D&AD, BAFTA and MediaWeek, helping those beginning their careers in advertising.

Helen’s career began agency side at UK agencies Holler and Dare, before moving to BBH as Social Engagement Director to look after KFC, The Guardian, BBC and British Airways.

She lives in San Francisco, but misses British pubs.
