A high performing leader with an innovative drive, Karla Davis works to change the way the world experiences beauty. Davis leads Integrated Marketing at Ulta Beauty, the largest beauty retailer in the United States. In her seven years with the leading beauty retailer, she played an integral leader in establishing the brand’s positioning, identity and purpose and launched Ulta Beauty’s first ever national advertising campaign. To deliver such strong work, Davis had to build the function for the company and continues to lead best-in-class teams across category marketing, equity communications, media & social strategy, brand partnership development, grand openings and local marketing. Karla’s passion for the diverse beauty space fuels her advocacy for research development, cross-functional initiatives, and communications strategies that ensure all beauty lovers feel seen, heard and valued at Ulta Beauty. Her efforts to elevate such important, inclusive work inspired a new value for the entire organization –Champion Diversity. For her impactful work in Multicultural Strategy, Karla was recognized as a Hispanic Marketing Thought Leader by HispanicAd.com and today she proudly serves as a DEI Champion across the enterprise and in external efforts alike. More recently, Karla was named to Essence Magazine’s Pretty Powerful List of Influential Black Beauty Executives and was an inaugural member of 25 Black Women in Beauty. An industry thought leader, her perspectives on various topics have been featured in Adweek’s Innovators Series, on the ANA Multicultural Summit mainstage, and in AdAge’s Retail and Media Summits, among others. In response to her career-long industry impact, Karla was honored as an inductee in the prestigious American Advertising Federation’s Hall ofAchievement, as part of the Class of 2020. Prior to Ulta Beauty, Karla held various roles in marketing at Fortune 100 companies including PepsiCo, Johnson & Johnson and Kraft Foods. She began her journey in the beauty industry at Fashion Fair Cosmetics. She holds a master's degree in design strategy from IIT's Institute of Design and received her bachelor's degree from Hampton University. She is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.
