Ayssa received a Bachelors and Masters degree from University of Miami’s Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science. She did research in coastal communities like the Galapagos before returning to Miami Beach and starting a career in coastal engineering. She worked on projects like the Port of Miami Expansion and sat on the Miami Beach Planning Board as their Water Management Expert. Ultimately, Ayssa saw an opportunity to make her DIY solutions into shelf-stable formulas for skin and hair health, and in 2018 the Miami Beach Bum brand was born.
