Bill Walsh is Senior Vice President of Integrated Communications at AARP, a national, non-profit consumer organization whose mission is to empower people to choose how they live as they age.

Bill manages communications strategy in support all of AARP’s social impact priorities, oversees AARP’s marketing and communications budget and plays a leading role in risk management. Bill led AARP’s Covid-19 response and hosted dozens of tele-town halls reaching millions of consumers who had the opportunity to directly question experts and government officials involved in the crisis.

Bill came to AARP in 2008 after a 20-year career as an award-winning journalist. He spent a decade covering health care policy on Capitol Hill for The (New Orleans) Times-Picayune. His work has appeared in TIME Magazine and newspapers around the nation. He has been a guest on CNN, MSNBC, FOX, NPR and C-SPAN.

Bill holds an MBA and a master’s degree in communications, and he taught journalism at Ohio State University. Bill serves on the Board of the National Press Foundation.
