Vanessa Wallace is Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) at Savage X Fenty, the intimates, loungewear,
and sportswear brand founded by Rihanna.
Wallace oversees Savage X Fenty’s brand and product marketing, media, creative, membership,
and global communications. As a seasoned global marketing leader, she brings an impressive
track record of driving brand strength and revenue growth through authentic and innovative
storytelling.
Wallace joined Savage X Fenty following a 19-year career at Nike Inc., where she excelled in
various marketing roles, from strategic brand marketing to global digital product leadership and
contributing significantly within their DTC retail marketing teams. In her final six years at Nike Inc.,
she led Jordan Brand Marketing for North America, where she was instrumental in driving cultural
relevance. Wallace developed strategies to elevate the brand at key sports and cultural events,
including the All-Star Weekend. She spearheaded the creation of the Jordan Brand Women’s
Collective. This platform launched the Jordan Women's Business and empowered women,
disrupting the marketplace with industry-defining partnerships and collab launches. Additionally,
she was pivotal in establishing the Jordan Brand Black Community Commitment, a $100 million
initiative over ten years to combat systemic racism.
Before Nike Inc., Wallace worked at Grassroots Promotions, LLC, with iconic brands like P&G,
BET, MTV, WNBA, Southwest Airlines, Universal Music Group, ESSENCE, and LATINA. During
her agency career, Wallace also collaborated with Gatorade, Southwest Airlines, and Daimler
Chrysler.
Wallace is a proud graduate of the University of Texas, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in
Corporate Communications. She is also an award-winning athlete. As a Lady Longhorns
Basketball team member, Wallace was named Southwest Conference “Newcomer of the Year” in
1996 and led Texas in assists in back-to-back seasons. In 2016, she was inducted into the
Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD Sports Hall of Fame, and in 2022, she was named to the University of
Texas Alumni Hall of Fame for Athletic and Academic Achievement. Vanessa also serves as a
board member of the Women’s Sports Foundation, an organization whose mission is to enable all
girls and women to reach their potential in sports and life.
When not traveling or enjoying a good workout class, Wallace enjoys spending time with her pup
Kobe and her family and friends, especially her three nephews, Suraii, Trey, RG, and niece Ari
and sportswear brand founded by Rihanna.
