Katina Mountanos is the Founder & CEO of Kosterina, a modern wellness company centered around high-antioxidant, early harvest, extra virgin olive oil from her native home in Southern Greece. The mission of Kosterina is to help others lead a longer, more delicious life.
Prior to founding Kosterina, Katina led the brand incubation team for Walmart’s US eCommerce division. Her team of 50+ marketers and operators incubated new omni digital brands, primarily in the fashion, beauty and home categories sold DTC online, via Walmart.com and in Walmart stores. Her team developed, launched and managed among others, Allswell, a lifestyle home brand selling luxury mattresses and luxe bedding at accessible prices.
Prior to her role at Walmart, Katina served as General Manager of the Home category for Jet where she managed a $150+ million business and a team of 20+ merchants & business development associates. (Jet was sold to Walmart in 2016 for $3.3 billion). Prior to Jet, Katina co-founded and served as CEO of VC-backed Manicube, a company focused on improving the lives of working professionals by offering affordable, high-quality beauty and personal care services in corporate offices. Manicube served over 200 corporate clients and over 30,000 end customers across four US markets. In November 2015, Manicube was acquired by Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spas after which Katina served as the Co-President of Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa’s Red Door to Door division.
Katina began her career as a corporate investment banker at Citigroup in both the New York and London offices. She also spent time as a marketing manager at L’Oreal USA focused on new brand and product innovation, as a beauty merchandiser on Soap.com at Quidsi and as the General Manager of BeautyBar.com at Quidsi. Quidsi was sold to Amazon in 2011.
Katina holds a Bachelor of Science from New York University's Stern School of Business and an MBA from Harvard Business School. She lives in the suburbs of New York City with her husband and three young children.
