As Director of Multicultural, Joshua (he/him) helps clients evolve the way they approach multicultural and inclusion-based marketing—rooting future strategy in an intersectional approach that recognizes the complex, multidimensional nature of identity and the evolving demographic reality of our world. He has previously led media planning efforts across various Google products including Google Apps, Google Fi, Google Play, Brand Studio and Chromebook.

As lead for Essence NA’s LGBTQ+ employee community group, Pride@Essence, his work focuses on real issues facing queer and trans people to create opportunities for education, foster community within the agency, and drive tangible impact. Most recently, he spearheaded planning for the Essence Benefit for World AIDS Day, an event that invested $20K in local LGBTQ+ and BIPOC small businesses and independent artists, raised approximately $5K for the Ali Forney Center, and garnered support from 12 media companies as sponsors or donors.

Prior to joining Essence, Joshua focused on media planning and digital investment across both brand and DR initiatives for clients such as BMW, MINI, Jack Daniel’s, Hershey’s and IBM. He graduated from Washington & Lee University with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications and completed French and Mandarin language programs at École France Langue and East China Normal University. Joshua is currently based in New York and spent his formative years in Miami and Bogotá.
