Trending for Office: Social Media’s Role in Shaping Leaders

The way we experience politics and governance is shifting in real time—right on the feeds, stories, and threads where culture happens. Social platforms aren’t just channels anymore; they’re arenas where new leaders rise, narratives go viral, and communities mobilize. This session explores how creative strategy, digital culture, and intentional governance can be reimagined to strengthen civic engagement, moving beyond likes and shares to accountability, equity, and collective public purpose especially as younger, digitally-native voters come of age.

Joined by leaders from Mamdani’s political agency, Melted Solids, we’ll explore how digital-first campaigns spark connection, shape discourse, and build political momentum. The conversation will highlight the opportunities and risks of reshaping political influence on social media and showcase how this forward-looking framework is cultivating a new breed of politicians.
