Zohran for NYC 2025
Donald Borenstein is a filmmaker based in Brooklyn. As an early team member on the Zohran Mamdani 2025 campaign, Borenstein was Director of Video & pioneered, along with Communications director Andrew Epstein, the direct-to-camera messaging approach that played a major role in the campaign's path to victory. Borenstein scripted, shot, and directed a massive output of digital video work in collaboration with colleagues Debbie Saslaw, Anthony DiMieri, and Olivia Becker.

Prior to Zohran 2025, Borenstein produced, shot, and directed films across the progressive media sphere, working as a Cinematographer, Director, Producer, and Editor on extensive prior digital, multimedia, and documentary film work for Congressman Jamaal Bowman, Michael Moore, More Perfect Union, Starbucks Workers United, MITMedia Lab, MeansTV, NYC-DSA, Chapo Trap House, PublicPowerNY, TYT, and many more. They have also worked extensively in digital video ad production for a wide range of brands, both as a Director/Cinematographer and as a content strategist.

Currently, Donald is the Creative Director for Video at the Office of the Mayor of New York City.
