Abi Akakpo is a Sr. Industry Manager at Google and leads the YouTube Branding work based in Amsterdam Netherlands. Her background is rooted in (digital) marketing covering a number of areas, from working with media agencies in the UK and internationally (Mindshare, Carat Dentsu Aegis & Mediacom), to working on the client side for Reckitt Benckiser Middle East, and most recently leading integrated media planning for Uber Eats (EMEA) in the Netherlands. In addition to client work, Abi is the Northern European Lead for the Black Google Network & Allyship journey at Google. Outside of the office Abi enjoys travel, reading, and socializing and is passionate about women & Africa. She is also the co-host of Headscarves and Carry-ons, a podcast about Black women living abroad (available on Spotify, iTunes and all the places you usually get podcasts).
