Andrew Perlmutter is the Chief Executive Officer of NBA Take-Two Media, a modern entertainment company bringing fans and players together through competitive gaming, social-first content, original programming and live events. Created to celebrate basketball’s unique role in culture, Perlmutter leads NBAT2 as the company produces genre-defining stories and interactive experiences across gaming, travel, music, fashion, food and more in partnership with tastemakers, athletes, creators and fans.

A business builder and innovator, Perlmutter specializes in developing modern media brands that prioritize meaningful audience engagement and storytelling that moves people and shapes communities. In his work at Atlantic Media and Boston Globe Media Partners, Perlmutter led full business-wide operations and incubated digital-first brands like Quartz and STAT News from within premium legacy institutions. He also spearheaded broader, digital transformation efforts at The Daily Beast and Newsweek— bringing them into the modern day to meet readers where they are. In his early career, Perlmutter also founded Backbeat Capital Partners, which focused on entertainment IP acquisitions valued between $50M and $500M. Today, and through his work with NBA Take-Two Media, he continues to blend iconic IPs with cutting-edge technology and ideas to meet the demands of next-gen audiences.

Perlmutter holds an MBA and a Juris Doctor from Harvard Business School and Harvard Law School, respectively, and earned his bachelor’s degree from Princeton University.
