Matthew Segal is the Co-Founder and CEO of ATTN:, a media company that leverages creative storytelling and entertainment to explain topical issues. Since launching ATTN: in the fall of 2014, he's built the company’s content operation into an award-winning, global media brand that sold in 2022 to Blackstone's Candle Media.
Segal has been instrumental in spearheading ATTN:'s programming partnerships with Meta and TikTok as well as ABC News and HBO to launch premium social video in a variety of new formats. His short-form series of animated civic shorts, Well Versed, won an EMMY in 2024.
Segal, a recognized entrepreneur, has contributed to CNN, The Today Show, ABC News as well as Real Time with Bill Maher. In 2017, The Hollywood Reporter named Segal one of the entertainment industry’s top 35 Under 35. In 2019, he was selected as the commencement speaker at the Jimmy Iovine and Andre Young School of Entrepreneurship at USC.
Segal has produced exclusive content with political leaders such as President Barack Obama and Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger as well as music legends like Bono, Keith Richards, and Patti Smith. Previous to starting ATTN:, Matthew was the co-founder and president of OurTime.org, a leading non-partisan voter participation organization.
Born and raised in Chicago and a graduate of Kenyon College in Ohio, Segal was appointed by President Biden in January 2025 to serve on the board of the US Holocaust Memorial Museum.
