Bobby Gascon serves as the Senior Director of Global Marketing (Action Sports) at Vans, a VF company, and is responsible for owning, developing and driving the Global Action Sports marketing vision and strategy for Van’s Skate, Surf, Snow and BMX programs.

Gascon began his career with Vans in 2009 and has worked in two regional offices around the world, making Gascon a true global representative of the Vans brand.

Gascon has led significant work building dynamic teams of strong individuals and agencies, ensuring Vans’ position as the leading Action Sports brand through product and brand marketing plans that inspire and strengthen authentic positioning with the brand’s core consumer, increasing affinity and driving consideration. He plays a significant role with global category counterparts and regional marketing leadership teams to promote and include Action Sports across multiple product category campaigns and brand activations.

Gascon led Vans to be the first action sports entity to provide prize parity (dual gender) across all global brand-owned events beginning in 2018 with Vans Park Series (VPS). He also was a key player in skateboarding’s Olympic Games debut in Tokyo this past summer, as he led the strategy to creating a world-leading sports property (VPS) that introduced a new competitive discipline, resulting in the blueprint for the International Olympic Committee to use for the Games. The VPS garnered 55M views across digital and social media, making it Vans most successful property to date.

Gascon is a global leader, as he’s developed relationships with media and municipalities in Sweden, Brazil, France, Canada and the U.S. to fund and build five skateparks in five years, building three in 2019 alone which were all left behind for the benefit of the local communities.

Prior to working at Vans global headquarters, Gascon was the Sr. Marketing Manager of Vans Canada. In this role, Gascon was responsible for managing all marketing properties for the launch of the Van’s Canada business to achieve business objectives. His work drove Vans to the top spot of all footwear brands in Canada, moving the brand up from fifth spot on the list. Through global consistency and local relevancy, he successfully amplified brand awareness and built an emotional connection with Canadian consumers across various touch points. Gascon also delivered the first ever dedicated Vans footprint in Canada, establishing a partnership store with a boutique in Montreal, with the store ultimately becoming a flagship for Vans visual merchandising execution, drawing visitors from across the industry.

Earlier in his career, Gascon worked as a sales and marketing representative responsible for regional sales and developed a marketing strategy for the launch of a new skateboard footwear company, apparel, outerwear and hardgoods brands.
