Throughout an award-winning four-decade career, Scheer’s distinguished experience in all areas of sports management have prepared her for her current role as Executive Vice President, Business Operations, for the Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL).
Scheer’s career began with the New Jersey Nets, where she spent more than 15 years. She then spent a decade with the WNBA’s New York Liberty as VP of Marketing & Communications, orchestrating league-leading numbers in attendance, ticket sales and marketing partnerships. Her success continued with the launch of MLS’s New York City Football Club, drawing record-breaking crowds to Yankee Stadium, followed by a role as Chief Commercial Officer for the New York Red Bulls.
Following a successful consulting role, Scheer became Vice President, Business Operations, for the Connecticut Sun, and then joined the NFL’s Club Business Development team, overseeing the NFL Ticket Network and championing fan engagement initiatives.
She moved back into the women’s sports space with the PWHL, which was honored after its inaugural season as “2024 Sports Breakthrough Of The Year” by the Sports Business Journal, as well as the 2026 Cynopsis Sports League of the Year and one of 2026 Fast Company World’s Most Innovative Companies. Additionally, Scheer has been recognized as a 2024 Sports Business Journal Game Changer, 2026 CNBC Game Changer and 20206 Pollstar Women of Live.
