Having left behind a successful career in the finance sector, Brett joined the three first-generation Greek American founders of CAVA Mezze - a neighborhood restaurant in DC - in 2011 to found CAVA and share the Mediterranean way of life with communities across the nation. Leveraging CAVA’s existing local momentum to strategically grow the business, Brett joined on as co-founder and CEO to spearhead the brand’s expansion into chef-casual formats, growing the concept to over 35 locations in just six years. He’s led the company through unprecedented growth, including the company’s acquisition of Zoës Kitchen in 2018 and recent $190M Series D fundraise in 2021, which increased the business footprint to over 200+ locations nationwide, all while maintaining a people-first approach to the business
