Donald Chesnut joined General Motors as Chief Experience Officer in January 2021. Prior to joining General Motors, Donald was CXO of Mastercard.
Donald has spent over 25 years in the Customer Experience and User Experience fields, working at places like Sapient, Razorfish, American Express, and Siegel & Gale, and has helped to create some of the most successful digital products, platforms, and digital transformations for companies like Disney, Target, Wall Street Journal, Carnival Cruises, US Bank, RBS, AT&T, United Airlines, Nissan and many more.
Donald has a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Dramatic Literature (double major) and a Masters in Interactive Media, both from NYU.
He is a published author (UX for Dummies), frequent speaker, and occasional teacher in the areas of customer centric product design. He is passionate about creating new ways to make organizations more diverse and inclusive. Donald lives in New York City with his husband, two dogs, and a wellworn suitcase that’s always ready for another trip (business or pleasure).
