Jay leads the 5G EcoSystem for AT&T with responsibility for partnerships that differentiate our 5G and lead to new revenue streams for AT&T. Jay’s responsibilities stretch across Consumer and B2C and extend beyond 5G into all advanced connectivity. A customer-focused marketer, Jay is focused on delivering 5G use cases in year such as gaming, sports and social as well as building new revenue streams beyond the current financial year through partnerships.
Prior to leading 5G , Jay was VP Performance Marketing for AT&T’s TV, internet and wireless businesses. Jay’s primary areas of focus include acquisition digital and direct marketing, retention marketing and engagement, up-sell and cross-sell initiatives and customer loyalty.
Before AT&T, Jay was global head of digital strategy and product management for the Global Corporate Payments division of American Express responsible for differentiating Corporate Card and payments through innovative digital and mobile products.
Jay held various roles in an 18-year career at American Express. Prior to running digital, Jay was Vice President, Strategic Business Development responsible for creating start-up businesses within American Express to drive incremental, non-card revenue streams from the base. He also held the position of Vice President, Customer Experience responsible for online and offline customer experience across Corporate Card and for driving clients to use online solutions.
Outside of his day job, Jay is active in promoting leadership at AT&T helping mentor female high performers, high potential leaders and participating in Hispanic and Junior Achievement conferences and events. He has a history of building teams from scratch and enjoys seeing them getting promoted out of his team.
Jay has a Bachelor of Arts in Business, Spanish, French and Catalan from the University of Swansea and a Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing. Originally from the UK, he now lives in Huntington Beach with his wife Sam and two boys, Ben and Ollie and is loving the California weather!
