Kyle Monson
Founding Partner
Codeword
Kyle has worked in the tech industry for over 20 years, first as a journalist, now as a creative leader for global tech brands and a wide range of startups. He co-founded Codeword 13 years ago, an agency that fuses content, PR, and advertising into a single field he calls “communication design.”
As a writer, Kyle loves to dive deep into complex technology and figure out how to communicate it to tech fans, the media, and normal humans. He believes marketing budgets should be used to make the internet a weird, delightful place for everyone. And he’s spent his career pushing for corporate transparency in PR and advertising.
He’s pioneered a Cannes-award-winning newsroom for Microsoft, proto-influencer programs for Qualcomm and Netflix, one of the largest content marketing platforms in the world for Google, and he’s a prolific speechwriter, penning some of the most visible speeches and keynotes in the tech industry.
When he’s not hunched over his laptop, you’ll find Kyle on weird technology subreddits, watching anime with his kids, or watching snobby TV shows with his wife. He also plays a bunch of instruments, and he can sit at a piano and bang out pretty much any song by ear. Try him sometime.
